Natural Tomato Lycopene

Natural vs. Synthetic Lycopene

Natural tomato lycopene, as found in Lyc-O-Mato®, not only includes lycopene but all the natural nutrients found in the tomato, minus sugar and water. Lyc-O-Mato® is extracted from non-GMO tomatoes and contains, in addition to lycopene, other phytonutrients such as phytoene, phytofluene, tocopherols and beta-carotene. These phytonutrients act in synergy with lycopene. The sources of lycopene used in most of the human studies were either prepared tomato products or tomato extracts containing lycopene and other tomato micronutrients and carotenoids in various proportions. Pure lycopene has not been tested as a single agent in human prevention studies.

Typically, synthetic variations only include the lycopene extract.

Look for a complete source for lycopene.
